Answer
When using ShopFactory there are free updates released from time to time within the version of ShopFactory that you have purchased.

Updates
Updates are updates to certain files within your software to keep up with changes and fix issues that occur from time to time. Updates within a version range are included in the price of the product.

So if you bought ShopFactory version 8.1.1 you would be able to download an updates such as 8.2.2 free of charge

The link below lists all updates available

An update is identified by the number after the version number.   So for Version 8.2.2 of ShopFactory, 8 indicates the version and 2.2 indicates the update.

Upgrades
Version upgrades occur less frequently and usually mean major improvements and feature additions. So for instance an upgrade from version 7 to version 8 would be a major step. A version upgrade needs to be purchased from any of ShopFactory authorised websites and Resellers.

The version number changes on an upgrade so for Example Version 7 becomes Version 8.   The next upgrade will be Version 9 and on average are released every 18 months or so.
